The idea of oneness is not a new one. For thousands of years it has been present in multiple forms in the world's spiritual and religious traditions in both Eastern and Western cultures.
Indigenous cultures and traditions have always embodied the principles of oneness, particularly in their relationship to the earth. Although the interconnected oneness of all things has been written and discussed in philosophy, literature, and religious texts throughout history, it remained, for the most part, an individual experience within a spiritual context. But now it has begun to emerge in new forms in many other arenas of our lives: in the fields of cutting-edge science including biology, quantum physics, and string theory, in technology, economics, ecology, social justice, and conflict resolution, among many others.
Oneness is present all around us in everyday life. For example, right now, reading this on the World Wide Web, you are participating in oneness: through the Web you are connected to the many millions of Web-users all over the world-people communicating with each other, finding common ground across different backgrounds, nationalities, interests, lives. Oneness does not mean we are all the same, either. On the contrary, oneness is found in the vast array of people, places and cultures that make up our world.Learn more at:
