From: http://delunaharps.com/
De Luna's lifelong love of music, which she regards as a form of prayer, impelled her to study and learn the Celtic Harp, Native American flute, Recorder, Bowed Psaltery and Bells. She has been strongly influenced by her early travels in Malta, the British Isles, France, Spain, Italy and Brooklyn, N. Y. along with numerous years enjoying the great variety of music offered at Renaissance Fairs and other festivals throughout the U.S.A. Her first harp was gifted to her n 1991 by a parting friend. Soon after, she moved to the mountains in Virginia where she became totally enchanted with the joy of playing the harp[. She taught herself to play: spending countless hours exploring the wide array of sounds and textures of the harp. A recording artist, De Luna has studied music from many corners of the world with various scholars, including Sitar Master- Roop Verma. Her repertoire includes a soulful collection of Early Music, Renaissance Music, World folk/ Ethnic, and original compositions. In her performances she enchants the audience with her intimate playing, storytelling and audience participation- weaving a fabric of inspiration. She has dedicated her life to the healing energies of the arts and feels honored to be given the opportunity to share in this blessed experience.
"I enjoy performing my concerts because it gives me the opportunity to help people remember parts of themselves that have been forgotten. My music seems to carry the audience to a place of peace and tranquility, offering each inspiration and hope for a peaceful and creative society.
In my concert I offer the glorious sounds of the Celtic harp, Native American Flutes, Recorder, Tibetan Singing Bowl, and bells, along with some story telling where I weave the sounds of my instruments along with my voice. Telling tales based on several traditions from around the world. My music offerings vary from Early Music, Renaissance, Classical, popular Music from the late 1800's to popular present day music, Celtic Music and Folk music from around the world, Childrens music, as well as my own Original Compositions. Although I often will offer concerts with a theme, sometimes my concerts will be a mix of all my styles, this appealing to a mixed audience. This is dependent upon the venue. like to leave the audience feeling inspired, connected and hopeful."
