Elissa Al-Chokhachy, MA, RN, HPCN, FT, is a graduate of New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, Boston College School of Nursing, and Hood College Graduate School.  She is the recipient of the American Red Cross Healthcare Hero Award, the Boston College Alumni Award for Excellence in Nursing and the Dr. William B. Stevens Award for “The Nurse Who Enjoys Her Work the Most”. 

Elissa has worked as a hospice nurse, a private duty nurse and a health care counselor. The author of several adult and children's books to help with loss and grief, she is a board certified hospice nurse and a fellow in thanatology: the study of death, dying and bereavement. With her life dedicated to bringing comfort, hope and healing, Elissa passionately cares for the dying and the bereaved.
